This exhibition by video artist Tomoyasu Murata will be installed in NADiff Window Gallery and insider the NADiff a/p/a/r/t store, and related good will be sold alongside the works presented. As a university student inspired by traditional Japanese puppet theater and Czech animation, Murata began building miniature sets and filming his own stop animations. His works have been screened at animation festivals both in Japan and overseas to high acclaim.
A total of seven works will be presented at this event, including one brand new animation titled “Matsu ga eda o musubi (The Pine’s Branches),” which is the latest work in his series “Sei t oshi ni matsuwaru kioku no tabi (Journey through memories of life and death),” which he began following the Tohoku earthquake in 2011.
