Art Gallery M8 4’s 71st exhibition, Photographs from Jean Cocteau’s Testament of Orpheus and The Eternal Return showcases 30 photographs taken during the making of two of painter, director, and screenwriter Jean Cocteau’s films.

Friend and photographer Lucien Clergue was given free reign to photograph Testament of Orpheus as the film was being made in southern France, capturing Cocteau’s artistic creativity.

Photographs of The Eternal Return’s making were shot by female photographer Laure Albin Guillot who had a successful career during the 1930s and 40s and whose reputation was revived by a 2013 commemorative exhibition held at Galerie national du Jeu de Paume in Paris.
