Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Shinagawa was established in 1979 on the heels of a nationwide boom in art museums. Hara Museum Arc in Gunma Prefecture opened in 1988, making this year its 30th anniversary. This exhibition focuses on these two pivotal years with works from the Hara Collection created during them. Highlights include Lee Ufan’s “From Point” and “From Line” representing the Mono-ha movement of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as works by artists such as Anselm Kiefer, Shinro Ohtake, Christo, Tatsuo Miyajima, and Lai Chi-man.
