Izu Photo Museum
Finished

Artists

Michio Hoshino
The photographer Michio Hoshino moved to Alaska in 1978, and over the course of nearly 20 years conducted and documented numerous Arctic expeditions. In addition to photographs, his accounts include many writings that detail his experiences and observations. This exhibition pairs his photography and texts while also presenting materials such as the cameras and kayaks he used, rarely seen documentary video footage, and handwritten manuscripts that immerse viewers in the world of the far North.
