The Phillips Collection, located in Washington DC, was founded by 20th-century art collector Duncan Phillips. Opening in 1921, It is the first modern art museum in the US, holding an extensive collection of European and American modern works of art. This exhibition will showcase 75 pieces from the collection by 19th-century masters such as Dominque Ingres, Delacroix, Courbet, Manet, Monet and heirs to the impressionists such as Cézanne, Gauguin, Henri Rousseau, Paul Klee, Picasso, Braque, and others.
