Yasuyoshi Kuroiwa
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of Yasuyoshi Kuroiwa (1921-1998). Kuroiwa was a designer with Japan National Railways (the current Japan Railways) and his work includes the name plate on the front of special express trains, the Green Car (1st class) logo, car paint schemes, and lettering for those cars. As a rail fan, Kuroiwa also painted, took photos, and edited publications. This exhibition looks back at his career and takes a look at design during the Japan National Railways era.
