YCAG Artist Incubation Program 2018: Veil and Void

Yokohama Civic Art Gallery
Finished

Artists

Ryo Fujimoto, Yuki Tawada
Considering scenes that appears before his eyes as “images that can not be touched,” Ryo Fujimoto seeks to find ways to negotiate this distance through the act of “erasing” the surface of photographs he has shot, via techniques such as scratching and burning. Meanwhile, Yuki Tawada explores the collective unconsciousness of cities and crowds, and the changes that come about in individual consciousness through images. Brand new works by these two artists who each take a unique approach will be on exhibit.
