Samiro Yunoki “Patterns and Colors”

Japan Folk-Craft Museum
Finished

Artists

Samiro Yunoki
Samiro Yunoki became a dye artist after being inspired by the philosophy of Muneyoshi Yanagi and the work of Keisuke Serizawa. Yunoki continues to be active with exhibitions in Japan and overseas, including at the Guimet Museum in France. Over a career spanning 70 years, Yunoki’s patterns and colors have evoked Yanagi’s belief that beautiful patterns capture the essence of things. The pieces on exhibit highlight Yunoki’s use of color.
