Ryo Kameyama
Ryo Kameyama has continued to take pictures of farmers fighting in the Sanrizuka struggle, a Narita protest movement, since the age of 15, photographing also the conflicts of indigenous people in Mexico, the Palestinian intifada uprising, and conflicts in Africa. His latest series titled “Yamakumata” is set in Yamakumata, in Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture. See how the people of this mountain village with a population of less than 50 live quietly alongside nature, focused on the act of living. Visitors can get a sense of Kameyama’s willingness to reflect light and darkness, life and death.
