Samiro Yunoki
Samiro Yunoki continues to work actively as an artist at age 95. Inspired by Folk Craft Movement leader Soetsu Yanagi and a student of the National Treasure Keisuke Serizawa, Yunoki has focused his 70-year career on dyeing, while also producing works of glass art, printing, picture book illustrations, posters, and more. With vibrant colors and bold designs he creates works full of life and rich in expression that have captured the hearts of many in Japan and around the world. Spiral Garden on the first floor of Spiral presents “Samiro Yunoki – Shapes on Paper,” displaying new works drafted for the show. Yunoki will also explore working on paper in new products featuring five patterns on paper by the brand Siwa.
