Sachiko Kaneoya
This is the latest exhibition by Sachiko Kaneoya, an artist actively producing works under the theme of “young men”. Kaneoya stoically and consistently depicts the everyday images of young men, from the gap between their white knee-high socks and shorts to their dress shirts and shaved bluish faces. Her work captures the unique use of psychedelic colors and humorous descriptions that has attracted an enthusiastic Japanese and international fanbase. This exhibition is mainly structured around a virtual space “Yoiko Yokochou” that frequently appears in Kaneoya’s works and features older works alongside the artist’s latest works. A number of newly created posters are also presented at an installation inspired by “Yoiko Yokochou”.
