Presenting the work of 15 realist painters including Sosuke Morimoto, Hiroshi Noda, Toshiro Aoki, Fumihiko Gomi, Nobuyuki Shimamura, Osamu Obi, Toshihiro Ohata, Kenichiro Ishiguro, Ryo Shiotani, and Hiroki Yamamoto. These artists all decided at a young age to dedicate their lives to realist painting, and this show exploring the circumstances that sparked them to set out on this path introduces works from this early time in their careers along with their recent pieces. A total of around 50 works are on display, including Obi’s replica of Rembrandt portraits at the Louvre, Shiotani’s replica of “The Baptism of Christ” from Uffizi Gallery, and other rare early works from the Hoki Museum’s collection.
