Artists

Yusuke Abe, Moeko Kageyama, Yuuki Watanabe
Yusuke Abe, Moeko Kageyama, and Yuki Watanabe are three young painters in their 20s and 30s whose distinctive works show artistic development beyond their years. Motifs of monsters, mazes, insects, and fishing are motifs that frequently appear in Abe’s works. Kageyama shows us orthodox oil painting techniques and imaginative worlds in her paintings that may call worlds like “fantasy” or “surreal” to mind yet are rooted in familiar subjects such as buildings, cities, and urban development. Watanae is always conscious of surface textures in his paintings composed of elaborate depictions of daily necessities, toys, or parts of the human body.
