Artists

Mayuko Ose
A solo show for Mayuko Ose, recipient of the France Ambassador’s Prize at Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi 2018. A graduate student of Tama Art University’s art research and Nihonga painting departments, Ose creates collages from photographs of postwar Japan and theater posters from the 1960s and 1970s. She is influenced by leading artists such as Tadanori Yokoo, and she applies their influence not to aestheticize her work, but to interchange it with a contemporary perspective.
