Tomihiro Nagahara
Osaka-based Tomihiro Nagahara continues to produce oil paintings that incorporate the landscape of Kishiwada City, where he has lived since birth. Nagahara’s wistful blue monochrome works depict streets and terraces devoid of people and identifying characteristics, instead dominated by buildings and their elongated shadows. These are based on photographs that he later doctors in the painting process.
