Yukio Fukazawa
Exhibition commemorating the life and work of Yukio Fukazawa, a copperplate printer who represented Japan in the postwar years and passed away at the age of 92 in January 2017, while recognized as an honorary citizen of Ichihara City. The title of this show - “Adiós Amigo” - is an expression that Fukazawa often used when seeing off guests or students at the end of a lesson. In this exhibition introducing the passion and warmth of his works, you can see roughly 100 pieces in total, including copperplate print masterpieces from both early on in his career and his latter years, as well as glass paintings, ceramics and other works. Follow the trajectory of Fukazawa’s style as it changed over his 60-year career.
