“The history of art is the history of the fight for freedom.” Rebel Without a Cause, the second exhibition of 2018 at Watari-um, features Andy Warhol’s iconic work as its main visual and displays of around 100 works by 15 rule-breakers including Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Buckminster Fuller, and Keith Haring. The three sections “Resistance,” “Design Revolution,” and “Rebel Without a Cause” offer hints for the current age from artists who have fought for freedom.
