Le Gentil Garçon
The window display at Ginza Maison Hermès is a theatrical stage in the midst of the city. Each year’s annual theme of Hermès is conveyed through the creative viewpoints of diverse creators. The theme for 2018 is A VOUS DE JOUER! (LET’S PLAY!).
When you were a child, did you ever get your hands on a bunch of different colored pens and, overwhelmed with joy, mischievously scribble all over the place? This edition of the Maison Window display starts with some giant versions of these pens, filled with the same childlike sense of abandon and playfulness, bursting out of a white sheet of paper. The pens can be used to trace the shapes of various objects on the paper and also to create colored rain. Not only are the giant pens tools for drawing, they also function as arrows, vigorously showing us which way to go. Ready? Follow the pens!
