Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels
Finished

Artists

Kumi Yokoyu
Kumi Yokoyu is an artist who asks and investigates whether or not it is truly not possible for the living to hear the voices of the departed through photos and text. In this exhibit, Yokoyu takes the stories of her grandmother who was born during the First World War and lived through the Second World War and examines the 20th century’s cruel folklore of “war and art”. The exhibit also looks at World War I in Europe and the “passage of time”.
