Sylvia Bataille
The French artist Sylvia Bataille is currently based in Paris. Her intricate copperplate mezzotints appear entirely like photographs. Motifs of speeding cars contrast with a sense of stillness, evoking a kind of madness. The exhibited works from a landscape series started in 2005 demonstrate the artist’s precision in depicting psychological scenes that borders on fetishization.
