Ends in 57 days
Enrico Isamu Oyama’s graffiti and graphic art feature “quick-turn structure” eliminating lettering and leaving only the abstracted movements of lines that reiterate and expand. In addition to his mural work, Oyama is known around the world for his solo exhibitions and collaborations with brands such as Comme de Garcons and Shu Uemura.
The artist explains that “Viral,” the title of this exhibition, refers to the more positive nuance of online media with its popularity and speed. “If we reinterpret the threat of viruses to the generative power of the viral, we can grasp a vital energy.” Focusing on Oyama’s “Quick-turn Structure” paintings, the show also presents works black and white works and those featuring texture and layering techniques. A new site-specific mural is a highlight.
