This event has ended.

Merry-Go-Round is the title of the new solo exhibition by Gianluca Malgeri and Arina Endo. The title refers to the theme of play. The works in the exhibition are inspired by travels in India by the two artists in 2014, when Malgeri became interested in the playgrounds scattered around Indian cities and conducted a wide range of photographic documentation. This research was then carried on in the following cities where the two artists moved: Berlin, Florence, and Tokyo, enriched by new images and suggestions. These structures, in-between toys and architecture, are often anthropomorphic in form, and suggest invisible cities. “Merry-Go-Round” inevitably brings us back to the idea of playing but also of fantasy: the carousel and its circle movement transport the user to a suspended space, subtracting him from the surrounding reality, whose outlines are blurred.
