The 77-year-old ceramics artist Fujiwo Ishimoto’s career includes creating more than 400 textile designs for the Finnish brand Marimekko and working in the art department for the Finnish ceramics maker Arabia. This exhibition surveys his diverse work, from bold, forest-inspired fabrics for Marimekko to ceramics capturing the wabi sabi aesthetic of Japan. Ishimoto’s textile designs will be featured in Spiral café and limited-edition prints and merchandise will also be available.
