Ends tomorrow

2019 VOCA Grand Prix winner Shinnosuke Tojo is an up-and-coming artist who has participated in the Nakanojo Biennale and a residency in Guangzhou. He uses damaged and rusted metal and industrial objects to visualize phenomena and ideas. His metal pieces seem both painterly and sculptural, bringing out a delicacy that changes with position and environment while also drawing attention the materiality of the substance itself.

This exhibition features works from his “Replica” series materializing unconscious images and psychological landscapes, new pieces from “Tagingu” representing traces of human life and objects left behind by time, new attempts with casting, and fluorescent installations he calls “luminous spaghetti.”
