Artists

Kisho Mukaiyama
Kisho Mukaiyama uses color itself as a material in paintings that in recent years have featured minimalistic layers of hues that seep into the canvas. His works are influenced by esoteric art reflecting experiences at one of Japan’s few monasteries of esoteric Buddhism on Mt. Takano as a youth. The title of this exhibition refers to the Eleven-Faced Kannon and the Thirty-three-Faced Kannon of Buddhist sculpture.
