Koshino grew up watching Kabuki with her grandfather and became acquainted with various forms of Japanese traditional culture. In particular, she has trained in Nagauta Shamisen for many years: she is an accredited performer belonging to Kinekatsukai. For the national competition of Nagauta Kinekatsukai which will be held in the Kabukiza Theatre in late April this year, she will draw the stage background for the Shokyokushu medley. This exhibition presents the new original ink paintings for the stage background, as well as Koshino’s works related to traditional culture.
