Euske Oiwa
Euske Oiwa is an upcoming artist in the Japanese contemporary art scene. He has received several prizes, including the 2017 CAF Overseas Study Subsidy. His installations composed of various media such as video, readymades, paintings, and text show insight into the realms of narratology, linguistics, game study, and his specific philosophical perspective on temporality.
This exhibition, which makes full use of the two-storied building, is the largest one of Oiwa’s career. He uses motifs of “water” and “falling” to connect the body with art history and develops speculation around our subtle recognition of time and narratives. Architect Risako Okuizumi and curator Taichi Sunayama contribute to explorations of spatial perception within the contexts of data and materiality in the Information Age.
