Invitation to Different Worlds – Specters, the Spiritual World, and Foreign Countries

Ota Memorial Museum of Art
Finished
Ukiyo-e paintings often depict the nitty-gritty world of popular kabuki actors, oiran prostitutes, and the busy streets of Edo. However, sometimes the paintings show different worlds of specters, spirits, and faraway lands. This exhibition presents ukiyo-e works depicting these different worlds.
