Ichihara Lakeside Museum
Finished

Artists

Yui Usui, Ummmi., Tomoko Konoike, Machiko Kyo
1,000 years ago, Lady Sarashina as a thirteen-year-old girl from what is today known as the city of Ichihara started a diary that went on to become a classic of Japanese literature. Continuing it for some 40 years, she recorded her girlhood dreams, observations of life, and joys and sorrows. Exploring the documentary, creative, and imaginative aspects of diaristic expression, this exhibition presents worlds dreamed up by 12 female artists.
