Artists

Hideo Hagiwara
Printmaker Hideo Hagiwara believed artistic value lies in works that stir the soul and that can be experienced only through it. Using his own techniques, he created prints with motifs that have captured the hearts of many Japanese viewers. The lyricism in his works has been praised in international exhibitions as vibrant and uniquely Japanese. This exhibition introduces 17 of works from multiple series involving printing from the reverse side of the image.
