Koki Arts is pleased to announce Shawn Kuruneru’s first solo exhibition in Japan. This exhibition will showcase seven new paintings.
Kuruneru makes paintings that are inspired by traditional Chinese landscape artists who valued spontaneity above all; they did not aim to depict nature, but borrowed organic shapes and forms as a vehicle through which they could attach their thoughts and feelings. The paintings presented in this exhibition bring together geometric abstraction and Chinese calligraphy.
