Finished

The strong desire to know the future is most likely because predicting the future is easily connected to making money. It is said that in the 1970s oil giant Royal Dutch Shell was able to prepare for the “future” by using scenario planning to predict the “oil shocks”. Knowing the future or making money by knowing the future has been a driving force behind capitalism. This drive has led to several tools such as scenario planning, foresight methods, and SF prototyping. However, even with these tools, there is no guarantee that the future can be predicted. Perhaps, in this increasingly uncertain world, it is the artists and their ability to shape the future before it has arrived, who will determine the future in general and money in particular.
