Artists

Underware
Underware is an international type-collective located in Amsterdam, Den Haag, and Helsinki established in 1999. They publish works about typography, they talk about typography, and encourage (and mobilize) others to talk about it. This exhibition will feature the first public screening of the grammatographical letter “Liza Y,” for which they cooperated with the Dutch artist Rob Bothoff. The presentation will be accompanied by three new posters and a series of recent publications.

About the lecture: “Variable Fonts is one of the most exciting typographic developments of the last years. Maybe it is even the most relevant one, since the invention of moveable type by Gutenberg. By showing various projects from the recent years, Underware wants to critically reflect on the bigger relevance of this technology.” -Underware
