Yeji Sei Lee, Takato Usuda
“Knock-Knock” presenting the work of Yeji Sei Lee and Takato Usuda is part of “Roppongi α Art Week 2019” held at four Roppongi galleries. Lee’s paintings featuring simple compositions depict scenes and places from daily life and travel, fragments of memory, relationships between objects and forms, and the interesting ways in which people arrange themselves. Usuda’s sculptures, meanwhile, evoke heart-rendering “inner complexities that only human beings possess.” These works speak to the presences of others beyond walls and doors and draw awareness to relationships between the artist and viewer.
