Keizo Kitajima “Untitled Records 2018”

The internationally active Keizo Kitajima made his debut in 1975. This important Japanese photographer is known for high-contrast snapshots in black and white from his early years and later his photo collection “New York,” which received the Ihei Kimura Prize. He has continued the project “Untitled Records” for the past six years. The series documents places across Japan from Okinawa to Hokkaido, including locations impacted by the Great East Japan Earthquake. At the same time, Kitajima runs the space photographers’ gallery and has published a series of photo books. This exhibition presents a year of work from 2018.
