Yu Sasaki “A Way of Looking for You in a World Where You Don’t Exist”
This event has ended.
Yu Sasaki has been selected for a program recognizing outstanding graduate students in the Tama Art University sculpture course. She combines video, sound, and sculptural elements in installations that engage the five senses to explore the contemporary nuclear family, patriarchy, and women’s changing roles. In these works she creates a dialogue between a model of a man resembling her father and her actual father, thereby questioning the complex imagery of the modern family and relationships between heterosexual parents.
