Katsuya Sugimoto + Solaya Nagai “Step, Swap, Wip, What’s Up?”

Harmas Gallery

poster for Katsuya Sugimoto + Solaya Nagai “Step, Swap, Wip, What’s Up?”

Ends in 17 days
Closed Today (Wednesday)

This exhibition is a conversation between Katsuya Sugimoto and Solaya Nagai, two artists who work in different media (painting and sculpture) yet share similar perspectives. Sugimoto’s paintings had focused on arbitrary subjects such as toys, figures, and other items from his own collection, but in recent years started incorporating contrasts, repetitions, and revolutions into the compositions to explore themes of faith and religion. Nagai’s sculptures encapsulate familiar objects in clear acrylic cases.
