Tokyo University of the Arts graduate Koshi Takagi has lived mainly in Germany and Spain for the past 30 years, earning much acclaim there. A 2017 show at Nagai Garou in Japan brought attention to him in this country, where he has also won many fans for his keenly observed, skillfully rendered portraits and landscapes in pencil and oils.
