The 7th Sato Sakura Museum Oka-Sho Prize Exhibition

Sato Sakura Museum
Finished
Sato Sakura Museum of Art will hold the “7th Sato Sakura Museum of Art Sakura Award Exhibition” in Tokyo this spring, commemorating the sixth year of the museum’s opening on the banks of the Meguro River, well-known as a sakura (cherry blossom) viewing spot. Visitors to the exhibition can view modern nihonga (Japanese-style paintings) that depict the flower most beloved by Japanese people, the sakura, while reacknowledging the beauty of nihonga painting itself. Furthermore, through this competitive exhibition, presented works will become part of the museum’s permanent collection, ensuring that the appeal of nihonga will be passed on to future generations. Take in these works that capture the beauty of sakura in modern nihonga by 31 future leading artists.
