Claudia Peña Salinas
New York-based Mexican artist Claudia Peña Salinas is a renown artist with several works in the collection of the Whitney Museum. Peña Salinas spent a month in residence in Nagano, creating works based on the nature and mythology of Mexico and inspired by Japan. Her first exhibition in Asia will feature media sculptures, installation, and video. The exhibition title ‘Atlpan’ is a combination of the native American Nahuatl language word “atl” meaning water and the word “pan” meaning a part of or connected to.
