How would the world look if we could see it again with fresh eyes?

“Big Two-Hearted River” is an exhibition of works by the 3331 ART FAIR 2018-recommended artist duo Junya Kataoka and Rie Iwatake.
Kataoka and Iwatake started presenting installation works that combine each other’s creations at undergoing a residency in Paris in 2013. By adding new energy to familiar objects like paper, books, and lightbulbs, the artists transform their original functions into changed movements that become kinetic artworks of peculiar phenomena. The pair expresses their own unique worldview through meticulously assembled collage works that combine various scraps and materials, visually taking viewers back and forth between multiple strata of space and time.
