Masataka Nakano
Tokyo – an ever changing global city and the host for the 2020 Olympic Games. For more than 30 years, the photographer Masataka Nakano has been taking pictures of this large city with sharp sensitivity and masterly understanding of space. “Tokyo Nobody” features a desolate Tokyo. “Tokyo Windows” features a surreal city seen through the windows of buildings and private homes. “Tokyo Float” features images of a floating city seen above and on the surfaces of the waters of the city. These titles with others have caught attention of many people. This exhibition is the complilation exhibition featuring the ever-changing expressions of the huge city of “Tokyo,” caught by the unique eyes of Nakano. More than 100 works have been selected, including main works from these three titles, the so-called “Tokyo Triology,” plus Nakano’s latest works and newly unveiled works.
