Cast Letters from the Past – Jinwen Bronze Inscriptions of Ancient China
Ends in 28 days
In the Shang and Zhou periods in China, 3,000 years ago, bronze vessels were actively cast with various forms, and those products had ancient letters on their surfaces. Jin wen, inscriptions on ancient bronze objects and ancestors of present-day Chinese characters, were not engraved on surfaces but made three-dimensionally by cast metal technology. This exhibition will show casting technology and the expressions of letters on Bronze vessels with replicas and casting moulds.
