Gifts from the Citizens 2018 – A Selection of New Acquisitions from 2016 and 2017

This exhibition will feature items acquired by the Edo-Tokyo Museum in 2016 and 2017. Of particular interest are some rare documents publicly displayed for the first time related to a famous place in the Edo era, Kameido Umeyashiki. Visitors will also find tea utensils from tea master Kaisui Yamagishi, the individual behind the teahouse Kaisuian, which was moved to its new home at the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum.
