Two years ago Post presented “Autoroute,” the first exhibit in Japan for the Paris-based photographer Sylvia Bataille. The copperplate print series featured speeding cars as a way of precisely depicting scenes intimate to her memory and mind. Her second show at Post also displays prints. The motif this time is trees in central France growing in mountains with severe climates. She feels that each tree has a story to tell and has photographed them with a pinhole camera, creating prints with unique textures. As with “Autoroute,” these works evoke silence as a kind of wildness.
