This exhibition introduces work by craft artists challenging themselves to explore new expressions while carrying on the techniques and spirit of earlier generations. These include the dyeing artists Mitsugi Yamada and Samiro Yunoki, the dyeing and weaving artist Fukumi Shimura, and the lacquerware artist Tanekuni Koyanagi. Masks and other work by the sculptor and noh-mask artist Biho Irie (1896-1975) will also be on display.
