This event has ended.

Yuichi Higashionna started the “unheimlich” series using common objects in the 1990s. His “chandeliers” are made from florescent light bulbs and his “Flowers” spray paintings are inspired by graffiti. Installation art, animation, and a variety of other media also appear as influences in these works.
The title of this exhibition, “un-unheimlich” doubly refutes the idea of a “home-ish” place. In this show Higashionna reexamines the conceptual effectiveness of the original series, presenting a large fluorescent bulb and LED chandelier (2012–2019), light objects, new paintings, installations, and print work. The space void+2, which is usually closed to the public, will be open for the exhibition.
