This exhibition marking the 45th anniversary of the museum’s opening presents the paintings of Risyo Maeda (b. 1943). Maeda studied in France on a government scholarship and became an award-winning artist at the 1971 Belgium Biennale. His contemporary oil paintings have won many fans for their harmonious compositions, original use of color, quiet light, and space that seems to breathe. In addition to his elegant, delicately colored portraits of women and still lifes, 40 major paintings focusing on new and recent works are displayed. Enjoy the world of Risyo Maeda.
