This exhibition, part I of a series celebrating the anniversary of the museum’s opening, features a selection of modern Japanese art from the collection. Dating to the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, these works include masterpieces of oil painting and sculpture. Represented groups including the Meiji Art Society, the Hakuba-kai, Nika Association, and others. Get a sense of the rich developments in Japanese modern art history through this show assembled by a new art museum.
