Yoshifumi Hayashi “Thales”

Artists

Yoshifumi Hayashi
Thales was one of the Seven Sages of Greece, around 6BC. In an era where God and mythology were unquestioned, he explored his hypotheses and proposed theories to explain the fundamentals of nature as a precursor to materialism and modern science. “Thought” is a mechanism of the cerebrum, therefore a function of “matter”. The brain-like patterns that reoccur in my images, is a reflection of the artist’s materialist ideology.
